Now that school has restarted, take a breath, Mum. I remember well the chaos of finding a rhythm after the bliss of the long Summer holiday which gave us the freedom of dictating our own timetable. One year I even forgot the start date of school!
You do not need to master the new timetable, remember every deadline and produce a perfect packed lunch by Tuesday. Everyone is finding their feet—including the children.
Let the first few weeks be slightly muddled.
Forgotten PE kits and last-minute forms are not signs of failure; they are simply the traditional soundtrack of September!
Keep calm, find your rhythm and remember: good enough mothering is still very good mothering.
